Sutphen Corporation officially announces the grand opening of its new 185,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Urbana, Ohio

In a celebration of Sutphen Corporation’s past, present and future, the largest family-owned and operated fire apparatus manufacturer in the United States officially opened its new 185,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on March 19, 2024.

The momentous occasion marks not only a significant milestone for the 134-year-old company but is a testament to the Sutphen’s family unwavering commitment to innovation, growth and the next generation of Sutphen family leaders.

The new facility, located in Urbana, Ohio, combines three former facilities into one expansive manufacturing site. The state-of-the-art facility will be home to Sutphen’s chassis line, corporate service center and custom pumper manufacturing. The business’s three other operations in Dublin, Ohio; Hilliard, Ohio; and Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania will remain where they are located.

Designed and constructed with fire apparatus manufacturing in mind, the new operation will increase capacity and manufacturing capabilities while also increasing jobs in Urbana, Ohio.
