Sutphen Corporation to be featured on the Discovery Channel
Amlin, OH (7/29/2008)
SUTPHEN CORPORATION TO APPEAR ON DISCOVERY CHANNEL Discovery Channel show "Some Assembly Required" to feature Sutphen Corporation July 23, 2008 – Sutphen Corporation, manufacturer of custom fire apparatus, will be featured on an upcoming episode of the new Discovery Channel series "Some Assembly Required". The show travels to manufacturing facilities around the country to give viewers a behind the scenes look into the process of how their products are made. "We were very excited to have the opportunity to work with the people from the Discovery Channel and Half Yard Productions (the production company behind the show)" says Ken Creese, Director of Sales and Marketing for Sutphen Corporation. "They initially approached us thinking we would be a good fit for the shows premise, and after a few discussions the ball was rolling." The show will air on the Discovery Channel beginning in August. Creese continues, "Our goal in appearing in the show was to shed some light on the manufacturing process of a fire truck. The majority of the public doesn't necessarily know where the trucks that protect their communities on a daily basis come from. If educating the general public on the process has a positive affect on their decision to vote yes for a fire levy or referendum on the purchase a new fire truck then everybody wins. Additionally, the Discovery Channel does a great job with educational family programming. I am a fan of the channel and the show so it was easy to agree to participate." Episode 2 will air on August 7th at 8:30 pm. Check your local television listing for more details. Sutphen Corporation is an Ohio based privately held, family owned business that manufactures custom built emergency response vehicles. The company's head quarters are located in suburban Dublin, Ohio northwest of Columbus.

Sutphen Corporation Releases Commercial Truck Line
Amlin, OH (7/15/2008)
June 5, 2008 – Ohio based fire truck manufacturer, Sutphen Corporation, has embarked on the development of its newest line of apparatus, the "C" Series. Largely based on the Company's very successful Shield Series, the new product will be built on an International 4400 commercial chassis. Traditionally, Sutphen is a fully custom manufacturer, since 1890 as a matter of fact, right down to their own custom built cabs and chassis. Why make the decision to offer a commercial line? "Given the current state of the economy, it's a realization that budgets will be tighter, however, the need to have quality fire fighting apparatus will never go away. We feel that combining the International commercial chassis with the custom quality Sutphen body, will give fire fighters an economical yet dependable piece of fire fighting equipment." Says Ken Creese, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Company. With the option of four different body configurations, departments can select which design works best for their needs. Rescue style compartments provide ample storage space for reels, spare nozzles, and hydraulic rescue tools, anything the fire fighter might need when arriving on the fire scene. Other options such as generators and emergency lighting, up to 1750 gpm pumps, and water tanks up to 1000-gallons add to the fire fighting capabilities of the trucks. With the majority of fire truck manufacturer's offering commercial product lines, what sets Sutphen apart from the competition? "We didn't try to reinvent the wheel, we just made it better." Says John Woltman, Director of Commercial Products. "Sutphen has a quality product hands down. The fact that these trucks are less expensive when compared to the fully custom version has nothing to do with the attention to detail that they receive in the manufacturing process. We utilize the same brand name components and the same high quality material in all products. When you don't cut corners in the beginning, you get a better product in the end." The company will add 25,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space to its Springfield, Ohio chassis manufacturing facility. "Although some of this space will be used for additional manufacturing capacity for our custom chassis, a good portion will be dedicated to the manufacturing of the new C-Series product," says Drew Sutphen President of the company. Sutphen Corporation is an Ohio based privately held, family owned business that manufactures custom built emergency response vehicles. The company's head quarters are located in suburban Amlin Ohio northwest of Columbus. Click Here For More Info On The "C" Series
